MY JW DAD HAS CUT US OFF! WE ARE DEAD !

we have 4 kids, he ain't going to see them before the grim reaper comes lookin for him.
my job skills are well in demand in alberta canada so that's our next move, we are getting out of the uk sinking ship asap, we have family in alberta who will sponsor us so i think it's time to leave and make a new start for our kids, as their aren't no jobs in the uk for them now even with university qualifications behind them.

Are they really that weak willed?

i have never heard crude talk.
people sware a bit, but in an amusing kind of way.

The Most bizzare & Scariest thing happened to me last night
by dm6 inhello everybody.. i wanted to share something with you all about something that happened to me last night.. i usually get these things called sleep paralysis, which is where you are alseep and you wake up and you think, oh ill get up now or soemthing, so you go to get up and you cant.. your actually paralysed.
but the strange thign is your awake....?
its very very hard to explain.

I remember reading about this in Awake ( there are some interesting articles in it).
From memory, you are actually dreaming, even though you are awake. The subconscious projects the dream into the conscious mind, and it seems that the dream is really happening.
The paralysis is the brains natural reaction that prevents you from harming yourself, due to reacting to your dreams.
I still have dreams about demons, and I wake up saying Jehovah, Jehovah under my breath. The effects of brainwashing.
Are you having treatment for your condition?
If you havent read the Awake article, I'm sure you could find it on their cd library thingy. Somewhere around the 1980's.

Thanks for your imput everyone.
Of course, once upon a time I was a Dub, so I know why they act this way.
But once your out, you realize how ridiculous the way they act is.
I for one, would have towed the party line. Though I'm sure, deep down, that I would have seen the absurdity.
If anyone still in is reading this then,
for the love of God: stop hurting loved ones, just because they dont believe the same as you.

I have never heard crude talk. People sware a bit, but in an amusing kind of way. We all have a great time.
One person only, always gets blind drunk and is sick after the first hour. We dont approve of his drinking in excess
but NO ONE has EVER dreamed of not inviting him because he is "bad association."
One other young cousin is always spaced out. Hes very nice ( maybe the drugs). Has just become a dad. His wife is charming and interesting to talk to.
No one approves of his taking drugs, but it has never even crossed our thoughts to not invite him.
We are not going to start binge drinking, or taking drugs, just because we are associating with them.
Are JWs really so weak willed that they believe that the presence of someone who is not exactly like them, even if it is someone they love, is going to make them fall into a life of god forsaken debauchery? If it is the case, then they are the feeblist of people.
In the words of Karen Carpenter: "you've got to love me for what I am, for simply being me".

Review and Comments on the New Elders Book
by MrDarkKnight ini recently completed an exhaustive review of an unofficial copy of the new elders manual.
my father, who is currently serving as an elder told me a friend of his in the service department told him it was on the internet so i eagerly looked for it and found it.
yes, i know it was a violation of copyright, but while at bethel i made copies of many technical manuals which is also a copy of copyright so the wts hypocrisy does not concern me.. i was appointed as an elder the year the pay attention book (manual replaced by this one) was released so i have very good working knowledge of the old book and could compare the two books.

what about those of us who were growing up in it and we didn't even have a choice in the matter?
what about those of us from whom some things in life were forcibly ripped away, things that 'normal' people take for granted in their life?.

The road I followed has led me to where I am now, and as I like very much where I am now, as leavingwt says,
I wouldn't go back and alter history.
I didnt always feel that way. Dating after leaving the borg wasnt easy. But then non exjws also have some dificulty there. I used to be jealous as hell of my wifes past sexual experiences. That was difficult to come to terms with, but I have found my peace there too.
I can easily get very angry at the WTB$, but I try to avoid harping on it. It wouldnt change a thing fot them as they dont care, but it would spoil my day.

HELP! Good Friend just told she is being disfellowshipped!!
by jdhf inhey... a good friend of mine was visited by 2 elders this evening..and after being treated like something you wouldn't want on your shoe...told her that her parents can no longer have anything to do with her 9 year old boy.
he is not baptized.. her dad is an elder and mum a long standing publisher...can they really insist that the grandparents ignore the child??
they babysit for him when she's at work...she would have to leave her job, and she lives in their house too..although they live elsewhere...her dad is researching this as he is obviously curious as to whether this is scriptural.
